Greetings Friends and McKinley Square Park Community!
Please join us at the annual Love Your Park Day benefiting the Children’s Playground areas at McKinley Square. All are welcome – and we especially need your help again on this round of improvements! This year's community project is wrapped around a generous donation we received, which intends to install fresh new playground sand into the children's play areas located in the upper terrace. Our annual events continue to support the need for park improvements and funding. And, once again - we really need your in order to activate this donation for the benefit of the many children and families who enjoy this neighborhood park.

What do we need? Our friends at Recreation and Parks have asked us to rally the neighbors, guarantee a minimum 50 volunteers (donating 3.0 hours) to make this effort a true community partnership. We’re sponsoring a fun day too including a BBQ Fundraiser hosted by our park partners from the SF Deputy Sheriff’s Association and SFPD. We have reserved a bouncy house for the kids and created some T-Shirts too. We're also going to host an informal design gallery showcasing the 2012 Park Improvements & Designs. Please join us and help support your neighborhood park by making a commitment to volunteer today.
We’d also like to thank the many neighborhood organizations for supporting the annual improvement efforts and our park partners including Supervisor Cohen, SF RPD, Department of Public Works, Caltrans, The Tides Foundation, Studio Green Landscape Designs, Vermont St. Neighborhood Association, SFPD and the SF Deputy Sheriffs Association.

About the 2012 U.S. Open Championship at The Olympic Club
The 2012 U.S. Open Golf Championship will be played at the historic Olympic Club, located in San Francisco, California. The Championship will be held June 14-17, 2012. Four previous U.S. Open golf championships have been hosted at this venue. They were in 1955, 1966, 1987 and 1998. This event presents golfers around the world with the opportunity to see the world's best professionals compete on this classic stage, and to play some of the nation’s finest public courses including Pasatiempo Golf Club, CordeValle, Pebble Beach, and Spyglass Hill.
